In his book, Colonial and Revolutionary History of South Carolina, author Dr. J.B. O. Landrum said, “Let us preserve our memories, our traditions, and our history, not only for our own information and pride, but for the benefit of the generations that come after us.” This wise man challenged me with his words of remembrance, and so I choose to write about those who came before us.
John and I began this journey after we both had other careers and experiences. We have found that our stories rest on the stories of historical figures who have gone before us. Lest we not forget them, we have joined together to make those stories come alive so that others will come to see, as we have, that stories don’t live in separation from each other, but rather are woven into a bigger tapestry called life.
